Friday the 13th is typically reserved for superstition and eerie vibes, but this past December 13th, Tannahill’s Tavern in Fort Worth was anything but unlucky. Despite the chilly rain that hung over the city, a dedicated crowd gathered outside the intimate venue, eagerly anticipating a night filled with metal, classic rock vibes, and unforgettable performances. The Zakk Sabbath King of the Monstours promised an unforgettable experience, featuring a stacked lineup that included The Iron Maidens, Zoso, and the headlining powerhouse Zakk Sabbath. Fans braved the cold, and once the doors opened, the venue quickly filled with the sound of excited chatter and anticipation.

The night began with The Iron Maidens, the all-female tribute to the legendary Iron Maiden. From the moment they took the stage, they had the audience’s attention. With their sharp stage presence, impeccable musicianship, and passion for classic Maiden hits, they delivered a performance that was both energetic and tight. Songs like “The Trooper” and “Run to the Hills” came alive in the intimate setting of Tannahill’s Tavern, and the crowd couldn’t help but sing along. The Iron Maidens set the tone for the night—energetic, tight, and wholly engaging.

Next up was Zoso, a tribute act celebrated for its attention to detail and ability to transport listeners back to the heyday of Led Zeppelin. From “Good Times Bad Times” to “Black Dog”, Zoso proved that they could channel the essence of Zeppelin like no other. Their set was polished, their sound expansive, and their passion evident in every note. Fans were entranced as they watched the band bring the classics to life in seamless fashion. The energy in the room rose with each song, with many attendees swaying and losing themselves in the iconic, timeless grooves.

Finally, it was time for the main event: Zakk Sabbath. Zakk Wylde’s vision of heavy metal perfection is a must-see for fans, and on December 13th, the King of the Monstours tour did not disappoint. Zakk Sabbath tore through a thunderous set that paid homage to the iconic sounds of Black Sabbath while showcasing Wylde’s signature guitar work, iconic growl, and larger-than-life stage presence. From the moment they hit the stage, the band’s signature brand of gritty, heavy, and unapologetically powerful metal enveloped the crowd. Classics like “Snow Blind,” “War Pigs,” and “N.I.B.” shook the walls of Tannahill’s Tavern, and Zakk’s energy was infectious. His stage performance was both dynamic and commanding—equal parts technical brilliance and raw emotion. Fans headbanged, raised their fists in the air, and reveled in the opportunity to witness one of metal’s modern legends doing what he does best. Zakk’s guitar solos were blistering, combining technical mastery with the kind of soul that only he can deliver. His signature Wylde’s guitar roared as he navigated every note, pulling the audience further into the heavy, hypnotic world of Sabbath-inspired fury.

It really was a night to remember despite the cold rain and Friday the 13th’s ominous undertones, this was a perfect way to embrace metal, music, and memories. The combination of The Iron Maidens, Zoso, and Zakk Sabbath created a dream lineup that delivered on every front. The intimate venue setting at Tannahill’s Tavern made it all feel even more special—fans close to the stage, feeling every note and every beat. The energy from the crowd was electric throughout the evening, as friends shared cheers, laughter, and headbanging moments. With this incredible lineup, Zakk Sabbath and his King of the Monstours left Fort Worth with sore necks, smiles, and a powerful reminder of why heavy metal continues to thrive everywhere even in Cowtown. If this tour comes through your town, do not miss it. From iconic tributes to one of the genre’s finest, the King of the Monstours tour is an unforgettable way to spend a chilly Friday night.
