Chrissy Costanza and VOILA pack the House

It was a warm October night, and fans lined up to get into the House of Blues Dallas to see Chrissy Costanza and VOILA. As you enter the House of Blues and walk into the Cambridge room, you are immediately met with fans for as far as you can see. There was a line from the front to the back waiting for their chance to purchase merch and grab food and drinks before the show started. The crowd was very diverse, and everyone got along and talked with each other. Everyone was excited and getting into place for the night inside this crowded, sold-out room inside the House of Blues.

An incredibly talented young artist named Ally Nicholas was kicking things off tonight. She took the stage with her guitarist not long after the doors opened. They both jumped on the stage, and the fans began screaming and cheering as she approached the microphone. Ally jumped straight into one of her latest singles titled “Bored,” the fans were hooked on the song’s first note and hung on to every word until the last note. She and her guitarist had some fun with the fans, talked with them, and kept interacting with them as they played through their set, getting the fans prepared for the rest of the party that would be taking place next. As they worked through their set, they mixed it up with some incredible original songs and threw in a few covers as well. When Ally and her Guitarists struck the first notes of “Today” by the Smashing Pumpkins, the fans were electrified with loud screams and applause as they played. After this song, they interacted with the crowd and then sang what she dubbed the song of the night titled “Miss Me Next.” It was the first time they had sung it on this tour, and they really liked the vibe, so they gave it a chance here tonight. As she began strumming her guitar and singing, the fans were intently listening to the song, and when she hit those incredible high notes in the song, she was met with more cheer and applause from the fans. They loved that song and were glad to hear it. They continued working through their set list and had incredible sound and energy that left the fans wanting more as they finished their set.

As the crew set up the stage for Chrissy and VOILA to come out next, the fans started moving around and grabbing more drinks and merch while they had a little time before they took the stage. As the time drew near for Chrissy and VOILA to take the stage, the fans began getting back into their spots, and more fans were piling in to see the show. Minutes before the show was to start, a recording came over the loudspeakers and informed the fans they were about to be tested to see if they were truly ready for the show. There were to be three levels of tests before the band was set to take the stage, and the fans were to sing along to the songs that were played during the test to determine if they were ready or not and wanted to see how beautiful they sounded. As soon as they played the first song on level one, the fans cheered as the first note was sung and began singing along to every word. This continued for a few moments, and with every level, the songs were sung louder and louder, and you could feel the energy in the room climbing as the fans were singing along and jumping and dancing around to the songs. When the final song on the final level was completed, the recording returned and let the fans know they had passed. Then you heard another recording of Chrissy Costanza welcoming them to the show and asking if they believe in magic. The fans erupted with cheer and applause while the recording continued to give the fans a message about the night’s show. As the recording concluded, it stated that it was their honor to introduce Chrissy and VOILA as they presented the Spin the Bottle tour one time only! The fans began screaming and cheering as Chrissy and VOILA emerged from the darkness. Chrissy screamed about what’s going on in Dallas! They immediately jumped into their opening set and had the whole place jumping in place as they performed their opening song, “Caught It,” with both of them performing together on this song. After they completed the opening song, Chrissy jumped off the stage, and VOILA welcomed the fans and let them know that they were going to be mixing things up tonight and playing some of Chrissy’s songs, some of theirs, and some collaborations songs as well. After the brief introduction, they jumped into their song “Drinking with Cupid” and the fans were singing along with every word sung by Gus Ross as guitarist Luke Eisner was having fun playing the guitar and interacting with the fans, getting close to them and posing as they took pics and videos of them performing. Once they finished those songs, they told Dallas that it was probably the best energy they had experienced so far on their part, and they were going to play a sad song but would be able to jump around to it. As they wrapped up those few songs, Chrissy re-joined them on the stage and jumped into one of her songs, “But, What If I Fly,” and she began belting out the words to the song. Chrissy and VOILA have such an insanely high-energy show, and they continued to work the fans with an incredible setlist into the night. There were many emotions, dancing, and jumping around all over the place in this room tonight. You could tell that Chrissy and VOILA left everything they had on the stage that night and poured their hearts and souls into the performance tonight for their loving fans.

This was such an incredible show from the start to the very end and, even then, left you wanting a little more. You could tell the fans you could stay there all-night listening to the music if you had let them. It was a very high-energy show, and I would love to see them play live again together. If you have yet to see this Spin the Bottle tour they are putting on and it comes to your town, I recommend you go and check it out. You will not be disappointed; if you are not familiar with them, go check them out, and I bet you are a fan by the end of the night and will add them to you do not miss shows lists. I myself will be looking forward to these bands coming back to town.
