Mangata Festival – A review in photos – 13/07/2024

The 13th July marked the 3rd annual Mangata Festival. Held in Nottingham each year, Mangata Festival hosts the finest in upcoming and well loved metal and alternative music. We headed down for the day, to catch terrific acts such as the off beat madmen in Raised By Owls, the industrial nu metal resurrectors Drip Fed Empire, and the genre defying headliners Hacktivist. Feast your eyes on this photo collage of all the best bits below.

The first band we caught, the impressively devilish Kryptess in the Red Room.

Yorkshire hardcore outfit Street Soldier got the crowd in Rescue Rooms going at barely 2:30pm.

We made our way to Ghost to catch Shrapnel do their thing.

Opening up the free to enter Tap ‘n’ Tumbler stage were death metal trio Dreor.

Ghost of Atlantis followed, back in the Rescue Rooms.

Back up the four flights of stairs to Ghost, and Phoenix Lake are bringing their A game.

Drip Fed Empire whipped the Red Room into a frenzy.

Then over in Ghost, 7eventh Sea bid farewell to their drummer Chris Latter.

Cabin Boy Jumped Ship raised the bar in Rescue Rooms.

Meanwhile, Blight Town burst onto the Ghost stage with their mathy pop grooves.

Raised By Owls brought a whole gameshow to the crowd in Ghost.

(the worthy winner of the ‘best headbanger’ segment)

But the night isn’t quite over, as Viscera close out proceedings on the Ghost stage.
