Less Than Jake takes on Milwaukee
Hijinks and jokes were just some of the fun to be had at the Milwaukee stop on the Less Than Jake / Pepper headlining tour. Not only did they stay true to their long standing fan base, but they brought an experience that I have personally only experienced at this concert. Within the first 20 seconds of playing, two confetti guns exploded into the crowd as they started with “All My Best Friends Are Metalheads” and “Sugar in Your Gas Tank” which should give you an idea about where Less Than Jake writes from.
In fact, the band’s name “Less Than Jake” stems from a friend’s pet being treated better than the humans of the household, so they were “Less Than Jake”. Chris Demakes and Roger Lima were not lacking in the energy department as they jumped around as though the stage was made of a trampoline. Idea for the next tour? I’d love to see that. I also have never seen anyone rock a trombone as hard as Buddy Schaub! It is still off putting to see trombones and saxophones in a punk setting, nevertheless it did not take away from the experience. My favorite songs of the night definitely were “Look what Happened” and “The Rest of My Life”.
During look what happened, they used what could be best described as toilet paper guns that shot 2 rolls of toilet paper like streamers into the crowd and a person in a king costume runs on stage throwing band merch into the crowd as well. I could not have been more surprised or excited as the show progressed, being a fan of Less Than Jake I knew I would like the music but I didn’t full expect how great the experience of going to one of their shows would be! Below are the remaining dates on the tour and you should definitely make an effort to go to one near you!
