There are few things more American in the summertime than cookouts, and fireworks (that seem to continue into August), except for maybe air shows. It’s appropriate then that the sponsor of the air show in Kansas City is the leader in GPS technology, and a wonderful member of the Kansas City community, Garmin (and I’m not just saying that because I just interviewed there…)
The air show experience is a lot like a high-octane rollercoaster, without the threat of motion sickness. Jets whipping by overhead, at supersonic speeds, really gets the adrenaline pumping. People jumping out of perfectly good planes, helicopters flying upside-down, planes built “backwards”, and a heavy dash of patriotism, and aeronautical display from the best of the Armed Forces, it truly is a unique experience that everyone should attend. Just be sure to stay hydrated, and use plenty of sun screen. It’s a long day in the sun!
