Nothing More at The Midland

There is much to be said about Nothing More that’s best left to be experienced. I knew I was in for something special when the buzz leading up to 98.9 The Rock’s Twisted Christmas was heavily about Nothing More. Word in the crowd was they were doing things no one else was doing. With multiple drums scattered about the stage, it would soon become evident why.

Lead singer, Johnny Hawkins, started the show, banging drums at the front of the stage. And, channeling Roger Daltrey (not just in looks) made full use of the stage, drenching himself in sweat, well before the first song was even over. Four band members, and four drums? Let everyone play. A contraption that holds the bass in place, so it can be struck by everyone with drum mallets? Why not!
